Big Rush Luck

Big Rush Luck is one of those games we opened for five minutes and put down an hour later. It's an arcade runner at heart, but instead of just holding one lane, you tap and swipe to line up little chains of moves as the level speeds along. The controls are simple enough to learn in the first screen, yet there's a rhythm to it that takes a while to really click.

What we liked most is how readable everything stays even when the pace picks up. The colours are bright without being noisy, and the game gives you a clear beat of feedback every time you nail a sequence. Levels are short, which makes it perfect for the kind of play where you've got one hand free and a couple of minutes to kill.

It isn't trying to reinvent the genre, and that's fine. The difficulty curve is fair, the restart is instant, and there's a satisfying loop of trying to shave a couple of seconds off a run you thought you'd already mastered. A few later stages lean a bit hard on memorisation, but overall it's a clean, honest little arcade game.
